Michele Thomas

Michele Thomas is a licensed Psychologist in private practice in Bowling Green. When teaching in Vienna, Austria, for two years, she and husband, Jack, frequently attended the Viennese Philharmonic, the Volkoper and the Stadtoper.

After completing her doctorate at Ole Miss, she taught at the University of Tennessee at Nashville where she also was Associate Director of the Counseling Center. Subsequently she became a tenured Full Professor at Tennessee State University (TSU) where she and her colleague created the nationally accredited doctoral program in Counseling Psychology. While at TSU she wrote numerous funded grants and was elected to serve as National President of the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. In addition to her university appointment, she was in private practice as a Psychologist and chaired the Tennessee Board of Examiners in Psychology for the Governor.

She most recently taught at Loyola University in New Orleans where she completed a master’s degree through the Loyola Institute for Ministry. In Bowling Green she vice-chairs the Pastoral Council at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and serves as a board member of the Barren River Imaginative Museum of Science. She and her husband have three married daughters and nine grandchildren.
 
The mission of the Bowling Green Western Symphony Orchestra is to advance music literacy through performances and educational programs, to provide a symphony orchestra of the highest quality, and to be a focus for musical excellence.
